Leading Lights is a group of Year 5 and 6 children that meet once a
week to prepare class worship at the end of each half term. Our Leading Lights
plan worship by:

  • Selecting the theme for their worship – this could be based on a Christian event or value(s)
  • Identifying the beginning and end liturgies that will be shared.
  • Choosing which stories or Biblical verses to share in their worship.
  • Selecting how they wish the worship participants to respond to their stories.
  • Creating or choosing a prayer to be said.
  • Choosing which song to sing and what opening and closing music
    will be played.

They are responsible for ensuring that the prayer spaces around school
are changed regularly and stocked with the resources that are needed.

Leading Lights are role models to the school community and can teach others how to follow our
Christian values of Love, Respect, Koinonia and Courage.
