RE is integral to our school. It deepens our children’s understanding of the world around them, it enables them to develop an appreciation of beliefs, religions and cultures beyond our local context and ensures our children can interact in school and the wider world with respect, tolerance and mutual understanding.

Our children visit All Saints Church every half term. All children have the opportunity to take part in the Faith Tour where they visit a Methodist Church, Gurdwara and a Mosque. On these visits leaders of the respective faiths share their beliefs and important features of their places of worship. We also take part in World Religion Day as whole school each year.

Parents and Carers have the right to withdraw their child from:

  • Receiving religious education (RE) given in the school in accordance with the school’s basic curriculum
  • Attendance at religious worship in the school (note: sixth-form pupils can choose for themselves to opt out of religious worship)

If you wish to withdraw your child from RE or Collective Worship please make contact with the school office so that we can make an appointment for you with our Headteacher or Collective Worship Leader.
